PROJECT PURPOSE
To promote parent/child interaction and commitment to educational improvement while creating a vibrant Home Learning Environment.
 Parents and their middle-school aged child will take a five week journey into the world of computers. Participating parents, working with their middle-school aged child, will learn how to use the latest technology to improve the home learning environment for their children. At the end of their journey the families will take their laptop computers home loaded with award-winning educational software.
PROJECTED OUTCOMES:
-Parents will feel more comfortable when helping the children use computer software.
-Parents will increase current level of involvement with their child’s school.
-Very young children will have access to high quality educational software and improve their kindergarten readiness and be better prepared for elementary school subjects.
-Middle school children will have access to math, science and language arts software that have been proven to increase test scores.
-Students will understand the importance that math and science can play in their future.
-Parents will use the pre-loaded software to enhance their own learning.
-Families will understand the importance of using Broadband to improve their quality of life.
